The Space

Coral Bay Club is a private, member-owned beach club founded in 1957 and officially opened in summer 1958 on Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. The club sits oceanfront on the Atlantic with Bogue Sound-side property, capturing the best of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast setting. Founded by Mary Cameron and a dedicated group of North Carolinians with early leaders including Raymond Bryan, the club has evolved over more than 60 years while maintaining its coastal heritage. Air conditioning was added to the club in 1969, the Fountain Room was added in 1973, waterfront property was acquired in 1974, and tennis courts were relocated in the 1990s as the club continually updated.

In 2023, the club underwent a complete rebuilding by Kersting Architecture and Samet Corporation, resulting in a new 38,000-square-foot facility completed in 2025 that preserves the club’s coastal heritage while providing contemporary event and recreation infrastructure. The Ballroom, spanning over 5,000 square feet, serves as the primary event space with a large stage, dedicated bar, and a spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. New features in the 2025 facility include Bar 1958 with ocean views, the intimate Cove Room, and the Cabana Bar by the pool.

The ballroom accommodates large celebrations with its 5,000-plus square feet and stage configuration, with flexible arrangements from 100 to 400+ guests depending on dining style and dance floor configuration. The Cove Room on the second floor accommodates up to 60 guests, serving as a private event space, card room, or meeting area for groups needing separation. The facility includes an ocean-view room and bridal suite, plus four bars strategically placed throughout, and ample seating lounges for guests to gather in smaller groups between events.
