The Space
Boots & Bourbon opened September 4, 2025, in a corner unit at 1310 Westover Terrace, inside the Westover Gallery of Shops, taking over a space that had previously been a World of Beer. Co-owner and general manager Danielle Mays built the new restaurant around a Western theme, and that shows up in details throughout the space rather than being layered on as decor alone.
Inside, the room seats around 100 people, with new paint and upholstery on every chair, so a couple booking a private event is not walking into a worn-in bar but a genuinely refreshed space. A large covered patio extends the venue outward, with room for roughly 50 more guests, and part of it stays under cover, which matters for a Carolina evening that could turn to rain.
Capacity & Layout
Between the indoor room and the covered patio, Boots & Bourbon can hold somewhere around 150 people across the two spaces, splitting a reception between a contained indoor dining and dancing area and a more open-air patio for guests who want to step outside. That kind of split layout works well for a rehearsal dinner or a smaller wedding reception that wants both an indoor bar scene and outdoor breathing room.
The venue accepts reservations specifically for private events and is classified as a meeting venue, so hosting a wedding-adjacent event here is an established use of the space rather than a special exception. Two pool tables, one indoors and one on the covered patio, along with arcade games including a Big Buck Wild shooting game, four slot machines, and a claw game, give guests something to do between the formal parts of an event.
Amenities
The bar stocks over 50 bourbons and more than 30 beers on tap, which is a serious enough selection to anchor a rehearsal dinner or reception bar on its own. The kitchen serves craft burgers along with less common options like elk and bison, so the food side of an event has some genuine character to it rather than a standard bar menu.
The main entrance is ADA-compliant with accessible parking nearby, and WiFi is available throughout. The venue is pet friendly, with a regular Puppy Hour offering half-off dog menu items, which is a small but real detail for a couple who wants a dog around during a more casual event.
Location & Getting There
Boots & Bourbon sits in the Westover Gallery of Shops in Greensboro, a shopping center location that puts it close to other businesses and parking rather than out on its own, with parking available on site. As a newly opened venue, dating to September 2025, it has not built up years of event history yet, but the space itself, and the World of Beer footprint it replaced, was already built for a bar and restaurant crowd.
The venue’s regular Friday and Saturday live music and Thursday night line dancing at 8:30pm show that the room is already set up to run sound for a crowd, not just quiet dinner conversation. For a DJ, that means working in a space built with a stage and speaker placement in mind, with the indoor room handling the contained dance floor sound and the covered patio serving as a natural extension for guests who want to be outside without leaving the party.
