Guests lined up at Brigalias for DJ and photo booth fun

The gold backdrop at the photo booth shimmered under the lights at Brigalias, and people kept drifting toward it even before dinner. It was May 16 in Sicklerville, NJ, warm enough that every time the doors opened a little rush of evening air slipped in and made the sequins flicker.

“Wait, do that one again.”

Introductions, Then Back to the Booth

By 6:15 the clapping was already in rhythm. Mike called in Ryan and Amanda, and napkins spun over heads like small flags. One of the groomsmen realized he was still holding a pair of giant gold sunglasses from the photo booth and tried to wedge them into his jacket on the walk in. They popped back out and hung off his pocket, and someone at our table lost it laughing.

The first notes of You Are The Reason settled everybody. Ryan pulled Amanda in, and the floor tightened around them. A couple of cousins used the quiet to sneak a three-shot at the photo booth, then hustled back when the last chorus stretched out. I could see the photographer tiptoe around the LED glow while the backdrop kept throwing tiny sparks on the wall.

Two parent dances followed. I Hope You Dance had moms dabbing eyes with folded cocktail napkins, then My Wish got a few dads rocking heel to toe without moving much else. Even the photo booth line paused for a minute. Someone held a cardboard mustache by their side like it might make a sound if they lifted it, then smiled and waited for the clapping before stepping in.

During dinner, that Rat Pack mix softened the room. Low voices, the click of forks, a hum from the corner where an aunt tried a paper crown that sat a little crooked on her hair. Between courses people slid to the photo booth, sent pictures to their phones, and carried them back to the table like new napkin rings. At one point a prop sign did a short swim in a water glass, then a server scooped it out with two napkins, grinning like this happened three times a week.

Anniversary Dance Surprise

At 8:00 the call went out for all married couples. Amazed filled the room and a few pairs joined from the edges. An older couple shuffled in from the photo booth still wearing an oversized bow tie and a silver tiara. She had a strip of photo stickers clinging to the back of her hand, and halfway through the song the tiara slipped over one eyebrow. He tried to fix it with one finger, missed, and they both laughed without stopping their steps. A niece pointed, then ran to the photo booth with her date to recreate that exact look while the song was still going.

Right after dinner they cut the cake. The crowd bunched tight, phones up, and Amanda dabbed a dot of frosting on Ryan’s nose before he could blink. A friend darted to the photo booth to catch the moment on a printout border, misjudged the timing, and came back with the right frame but frosting on his wrist. He held it up like a badge as people drifted back to the floor when the next song pulled them in.

One More Round of Photos

The last hour blurred. Groups kept forming and breaking, bouncing between the floor and the photo booth. Two little kids swapped the same pair of glitter ears all night, popping up in at least five different strips I saw. Someone started a long chain of “serious face” poses that got less serious with each return trip. Every so often the DJ would drop something that made half the room lift their heads at once, and the line at the photo booth would thin as heels clicked toward the floor.

Near the end, a cousin tried to fit ten people into one frame. The curtain stuttered, elbows tucked, and a guy on the edge got only half his face in the shot. He shrugged, laughed, and they all ran it back. The music eased, lights softened, and that last print slid out warm while they argued over who got to keep it.
