Well… There’s a lot to love about Cape May, NJ! For starters it’s one of the oldest vacation resort destinations in America, and was founded as a seaside vacation hideaway in the 1800’s by Philadelphians looking for some rest and relaxation. In fact the entire city of Cape May is a designated historic site, for its massive collection of gorgeous, gingerbread trimmed, Victorian houses, and is second only to San Francisco, CA in that regard. The ‘diamonds’ wash up at Sunset Beach and a few other beaches in the area, and are actually clear quartz pebbles that are polished and washed down from the Delaware River. Neat!
